I wanted to learn how to dance the Charleston, so I watched a tutorial on how to do so. My skills aren’t the best so I decided to animate it instead… as if that’s any easier!
These are the planning sketches I made using the tutorial video as reference. The scan quality may not be the best but the top line in both pages is actually my rough sketches. I tend to draw faintly in case I need to erase something, so the row below it is more cleaned up and without the structure lines. These will be for the keyframes in the animation. It also gave me a chance to practice drawing it consistently as well as plot out the main movement, as illustrated by the arrows.
The final row is if I decide to turn this animation into a template for other characters to dance. It was a test of movement such as hair and skirt which would be the main focus.
