Here’s the start of another collection/series I’m doing.
For a while now I’ve been mostly doing pencil on paper drawings. Recently, I redrew them digitally. Mostly, I find it easier to draft onto tangible paper, benefiting from the control of a pencil but after scanning it onto a computer I find colours and final drawing look a lot better.
This is the first of the group (drawn in no particular order). This is more of a sporty character & I tried to convey the hair in the plait is dyed.
I decided to stick with black & white because A: the canvas size and B: I wanted to try to depict that highlight with just black & white.
A short time before I drew this I had figured out/discovered how to put highlights in the hair. This was a bit of a repetitive/time consuming process, so while it was the first picture I actually started to redraw, it wasn’t the first to be finished as I moved on to another before coming back to this.
Overall, I’m quite happy with how my first attempt looked (maybe one day in the future I’ll try to add some colour, or maybe not)
