First princess drawing! The final colour palette was inspired by so many tales/sagas of farie queens being described with gold hair and green dresses.
As nice as the scanned picture was, when I redrew the lineart I just HAD to redraw the plait. While I was doing so I thought ‘hey, the tiara and jewelry could use a redesign, couldn’t they?’… so I did that too. Having a design theme (butterflies) really helped tie the rest of the design together.
I also tried to convey a bit of the colour tones with the width of the line, and I’m glad the lineart shows that.
While I’m happy with how the texture on the dress looks better than a solid block of colour, I’m not sure the exact shade of the jewelry looks good- it’s more of a steel than the silver I was going for.
Usually when drawing profiles, the nose is what worries me the most but I’m happy with how it turned out in this one.
