Briton VS Viking with a knife. This can only go well.
I find I tend to do blended shading for medieval/fantasy characters and cel shading for modern characters, so time to do something a bit different. (Yes, there’s a Viking standing in front of her which would technically block out the sun but we’ll ignore that for now) All in all I’m happy with how it turned out, especially the shading for her hand.
Some of the details I’d like to point out is the cloth on her head (called a wimple, I think?) and the edge of the skirt tucked into her belt. These were not uncommon things people did throughout history.
The knife has clear scratches of wear and tear as well as the light reflecting off the sharp edge (bling), which is much more effort than I put into the background (just enough to convey ‘boat’).
